Liar, Liar, Pants On Fire!

(Occasional informal comment on possible conflicts with the “Thou shalt not bear false witness” Commandment.)

…, in appearances on Sunday talk shows, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said the traveling public "is very, very safe."

"This was one individual literally of thousands that fly and thousands of flights every year," Napolitano said. "And he was stopped before any damage could be done. I think the important thing to recognize here is that once this incident occurred, everything happened that should have."

Even so, airport security and intelligence played no role in thwarting the plot. Abdulmutallab was carrying PETN, also known as pentaerythritol, the same material convicted shoe bomber Richard Reid used when he tried to destroy a trans-Atlantic flight in 2001 with explosives hidden in his shoes. Abdulmutallab is alleged to have carried the explosive in condom-like pouches attached to his body.

Here was a young foreign male whose name was on at least one “US Gestapo” terrorist warning list.

His father had alerted “US authorities” a week or so before the flight.

Yet the man was allowed to get on the flight without being subjected to a careful and thorough search of his person.

Further, no Air Marshal had been assigned to sit alongside or near the man during the flight.

Yes, the dude “was stopped,” but only after he failed to blow up the plane, and only by a brave young male Dutch citizen coming to the US for a vacation.

Question:

Should Ms. Janet Napolitano be arrested and charged with something like gross incompetence, and nonfeasance and misfeasance of office?

Should her several bosses also be similarly charged?

Should the entire “US Gestapo” be investigated for gross incompetence at least?

Or are we supposed to be comforted by Ms. Napolitano’s blithe assurances and dissembling?

Does she mean that if the bomb had gone off as intended, and if the plane had crashed and if everyone had been killed as intended, the crash would have been properly attended to by fire and rescue crews?

Does she mean that the FAA and other government departments would properly investigate the crash, etc., and they would properly notify the next of kin?

Is Ms. Janet Napolitano a total idiot?

Or is she just a female decoy, a lady lightning rod hired “by the big boys upstairs” to absorb the sharpest pubic attacks against incompetent or unconstitutional government?

Is she supposed to publicly “hang” while “the big boys upstairs” safely continue their sellout of the US Constitution and honest government?

We are anxious to see how that infamous “Parliament of Whores”* in Washington, DC, responds!
